TimeWaver utilizes a high-tech light quanta effect to accomlish radionic analysis and optimization. A stream of single photons is directed in 45 ° angle toward a wafer-thin glass plate. If a photon passes through the glass, a binary 1 is generated; but a reflection generates the value 0.

The decision for reflection or no reflection is an authentic quantum effect. It does not depend on a physical cause. This seemingly random effect is, according to Burkhard Heim, a genuine expression of the underlying information field. In the quantum leaps of single photons, the radionic information can express itself in its purest form.
By associating the flow of information of the photons with a certain object, one can read, according to the Heim theory, its information field, and vice versa. The radionic information can be written into the information field.
